General information, not advice

Everything here is written to be useful. None of it is advice for your situation. What to do about a security problem depends on three things. Your systems, your obligations, and what is actually happening. A web page knows none of them.

Do not run an incident off a page on this site. Call us. Or call somebody who can look at what is in front of you.

Nothing here creates an engagement

Reading this site does not make you a client. Neither does emailing us. Neither does the emergency form. Neither does a phone call at two in the morning.

An engagement begins when both sides sign an agreement. It names the work, the terms and the fees. Until then there is no retainer and no contract, and none of the duties a signature creates. We take the call. We say what we would do in the first hour.

This matters most in an emergency. The emergencies page says it too. An emergency call is not a retainer. The terms the work runs under are agreed in writing before it starts.

What you tell us in that first conversation is treated as confidential. Whether the engagement goes ahead or not.

No guaranteed outcomes

We do not promise that data will be recovered. Or that files will be decrypted. Or that an attacker will be identified. Or that it will not happen again. Anyone promising those is selling something.

What we commit to is method. A documented approach. Evidence handled to survive scrutiny. A straight account of what we found, and of what we could not establish.

Using what is here

Link to any page on this site. Quote it with attribution, print it, pass it to a colleague. That is what it is for. No permission is needed.

Do not republish a page or an article as your own. Do not sell it. Do not feed it into a product that calls it somebody else's work. The words, the design, the marks, the artwork. All of it belongs to Fulk Labs.

Availability and accuracy

We try to keep this site accurate and available. Neither is a promise. Pages change. Services change. A page may be out of date on the day you read it.

Where a page links somewhere else, that site is theirs, not ours. We are not responsible for what it says or does.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. So is anything arising out of this site. Its courts have jurisdiction.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them stand.
